Post Post Office
David Horvitz gave me hundreds of his photographs one day without any specific instruction. He told me to give it to anyone, or keep it. I thought about best way to distribute it. I’m willing to send them to strangers for free. I’ve been sending about three photographs per mail.
I send photographs within few days of getting an inquiry via email. I do ask for few dollars to cover the cost of shipping, but I send them regardless of donation. While this is not a good business model, maybe it can be an experiment in creating alternative economy around art objects. Not the kind of currency based on scarcity and commodity, but the kind based on community and appreciation. I will keep record of spending related to the project, and see if donation makes up for the expense at the end. I’d like to distribute other artist’s work too, but maybe with different strategy.
