APAP2013 프로젝트 <만들자 연구실>의 두번째 공개 행사로, 영국 맨체스터에서 다목적 메이커 스페이스를 운영하는 Manchester Digital Laboratory(약칭 MadLab)의 워크숍을 엽니다.
2009년 MadLab을 설립한 정화영과 데이브 미(Dave Mee)를 초대하여 MadLab의 운영 목적과 그 동안의 성과를 소개하고, 초소형 교육용 컴퓨터인 라스베리파이(Raspberry Pi)를 이용한 스크래치(Scratch) 워크숍을 통해 누구나 프로그래밍에 쉽게 접근하고 체험할 수 있는 자리를 마련합니다. 본 행사는 안양 지역의 교사 그리고 메이커 문화에 관심이 있는 예술가와 기획자들에게도 의미있는 기회가 될 것입니다.
2009년에 설립된 MadLab은 30평의 3층 공간에서 정기적으로 공개 행사를 진행하며, 해킹과 수공예뿐만 아니라 DIY Bio 등의 공동체 활동을 지원하는 공간입니다. 맨체스터 시민이 공간을 창의적으로 활용하는 것을 가장 중요한 목표로 삼고, 다양한 연령층이 참여할 수 있는 여러 행사를 개최합니다. http://madlab.org.uk/

<만들자 연구실>은 안양 시민에게 제안하는 자생적인 메이커 스페이스의 청사진입니다.
지난 2월 갤러리 팩토리에서 열린 <만들자! 데모-데이>에 이어 본 행사를 시작으로 2013년 하반기에 안양 시민, 학생 그리고 전문가 대상의 다양한 참여 프로젝트를 준비하고 있습니다.
안양파빌리온
안양파빌리온(알바로시자홀) 오는 길 장소 안양예술공원 내 안양파빌리온(알바로시자홀) 1층 전시장
대중교통을 이용하시는 분들은 1호선 안양역에서 하차하신 뒤, 안양역 바로 앞의 버스정류장에서 마을버스 2번을 타고 종점인 “안양예술공원”역에서 하차하시기 바랍니다. 안양역 버스정류장은 기점으므로, 반드시 “안양예술공원행”이라고 적힌 것을 확인하신 뒤 탑승해주십시오.
자가용을 가져오시는 분들은 알바로시자홀에 못미쳐 있는 식당가 뒷쪽 골목, 또는 안양예술공원 입구에서 좌측에 위치한 공영주차장을 이용해주시기 바랍니다.
Fingers in too many pies
<Making Lab> at APAP 2013 presents a public event with Manchester Digital Laboratory (MadLab) from Manchester, UK with founders Hwa Young and Dave Mee. Part seminar and part workshop, presenters will introduce operations of MadLab and teaching programming with microcomputer Raspberry Pi and Scratch. This event will be a great introduction for teachers and makers in Anyang as well as artist and curators who are interested about maker culture.
MadLab was founded in 2009 and have been presenting public events in a three stories building of approximately 1000 square feet. MadLab has a facility for D.I.Y, Hacking and Craft in addition to experimental programs like DIY Bio. Creative use of the lab by Machester community is the most important goal of MadLab, therefore the space and its program is geared toward wide range of participants.

Making Lab
Making Lab is a proposition for a sustainable community maker space in the city of Anyang as part of Anyang Public Art Project.
Making Lab presented <Make it! Demo-day> at Gallery Factory in February and will begin operation in the second half of 2013 with educational and participatory opportunities for citizen, students and experts.
Commission and residency for International and Korean artists will lead to imagining possible future of public media, opensource and hacking as a form of public art.
